[Verse 1]
I Searched the World
But it couldn’t Fill me
Man’s Empty Praise
And Treasures that Fade
Are never Enough
Then You came along
And put me back Together
And every Desire is now Satisfied
Here in Your Love
[Chorus]
Oh there’s Nothing
Better than You
There’s nothing Better than You
Lord there’s Nothing,
Nothing is Better than You
[Verse 2]
I’m not Afraid
To show You my Weakness
My Failures and Flaws
Lord You’ve seen them all
And You still call me Friend
‘Cause the God of the Mountain
Is the God of the Valley
There’s not a Place
Your Mercy and Grace
Won’t find me again
[Chorus]
Oh there’s Nothing
Better than You
There’s nothing Better than You
Lord there’s Nothing,
Nothing is Better than You
Oh there’s Nothing
Better than You
There’s nothing Better than You
Lord there’s Nothing,
Nothing is Better than You

“Elevation’ worship is a misnomer. In Hebrew and Greek, the word we choose for ‘Worship” always come with the understand of a ‘downward’ stance, that is, bowing… bowing down. On the other hand, praise always comes with an upward understanding, hands and voices lifted up. We have absolutely no issues with separating praise and worship in a secular sense. We praise of grandchildren’s school-work… but we’d never worship it. Why has the ‘modern church ‘ lost’ this very basic understanding of these two different terms? We don’t confuse these two concepts anywhere but church!

Perhaps you should ask them how they arrived at this name. To me, it might be that they were applying a law of physics here – for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. As we bow down in worship, the Lord is “elevated” by our praise.
