William Henry Murphy III is an American gospel recording artist and pastor.
(born August 2, 1973)
He started his music career in 2005, with the release of All Day by Epic Records.
William Murphy second album, The Sound, was released in 2007 on Central South,
and was listed on the Top Gospel Albums chart.
He later released his Third Album We Are One in 2011.
His fourth album, God Chaser, was released in 2013 on Verity.
The album reached the Gospel Albums chart, as well as the Billboard 200
He’s known for hits songs such as “Praise Is What I Do,” “It’s Working,” and “Everlasting God,”
William Murphy is also a Pastor of The dReam Center Church of Atlanta.
William is a GRAMMY® and Dove Award nominee, and also a Stellar Award winner.
He has come from a lineage of pastors, affectionately known as the Murphy Dynasty, with his grandfather,
Dr. William H. Murphy, Sr. and his father, Bishop William H. Murphy, Jr.
Both preceding him with more than 70 years of pastoring combined.
In 2000, William Murphy became a staple in the gospel industry following his release of “Praise Is What I Do”
with Shekinah Glory Ministry. The following year, William Murphy and his wife,
Danielle Murphy relocated to Atlanta, Georgia.
There, William Murphy served as the worship minister of the renowned New Birth Missionary Baptist Church
while preaching the gospel and ministering in song around the world.
His God Chaser project, released in 2013, notably peaked at #3 on Billboard’s Gospel chart .
And also earned Murphy his first Grammy nod.
While Murphy’s musical career was at an all-time high,
he and Danielle answered the call to pastor in 2006.
Then launched The dReam Center Church of Atlanta.
Murphy also serves as the presiding Bishop of Worship in the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship
International Ministries under co-founder Bishop Paul S. Morton.
Through his pastoral leadership and timeless music, he has guided millions to Christ.
His latest project “Settle Here” (RCA Inspiration), marked his sixth solo project
and was released on March 15th, 2019.
The ten-song collection, produced by Kenneth and Tasha Cobbs Leonard,
was recorded at The dReam Center Church of Atlanta.
The debut single, “Settle Here (Pt. 1)” peaked at #1 on Billboard’s Gospel Digital Song Sales chart.
The album also touts hits like “The Rock,” “Worship Forever,”
a remake of Zach Williams’ “Chain Breaker” and “Face to Face.”
Murphy continues to pioneer a unique sound in Gospel and also the faith-based community as a whole,
bringing together denominations, churches, generations, and also cultures as he shares Christ’s message with all.
