VaShawn Mitchell is an American gospel singer and also a songwriter.
He produced several Stellar Award-winning projects and songs for Grammy Award winners.
Born and raised in Harvey, Illinois, and also graduated from
Thornton High School with a degree in psychology.
Mitchell’s potential came to light at 20. And then he was hired as the
Minister of Music at Chicago’s Sweet Holy Spirit Church.
He went on to produce some of the most noted selections,
Don’t Last and My Worship Is For Real.
VaShawn also produced and released his first solo project entitled, So Satisfied.
As a songwriter, Mitchell also penned down hits for Smokie Norful,
and also Bishop Paul Morton.
He is also a worship leader and subsequently wrote several
top-selling choir recordings and memorable hits.
In 2012, Mitchell started the Norman Youth and Arts Foundation,
in memory of his grandfather.
This Foundation sponsors summer youth camps for the arts in the Chicago area.
From December 31, 2016, VaShawn Mitchell is the General Overseer of
Music & Worship Arts in Mount Zion Baptist.
