Tye Tribbett is an American Gospel Artist and also a song writer,
born in Camden, New Jersey, United States.
He started his music career in 1996
Jesus Loves You
No Matter Your Sins in the Past
He Gave His Life so You Might Live
Come to Him Today
With one of the most relevant voices of this generation.
a sound that reaches the heart of young as well as the old, Tye Tribbett creates a dynamic new caliber of music.
His music cannot be classified as one genre, but his unique, abstract way encompasses all.
Tye is often refered to as the “Elvis of Gospel” multiple GRAMMY® Award and Soul Train Music Award.
Tye Tribbett returned with his third consecutive Billboard #1 Gospel Album,
The Bloody Win (2017), his first album since the 2013 chart-topping Greater Than (Motown Gospel).
The meaning behind The Bloody Win lies within the concept of “aggressive victory.”
After the album’s “Intro,” a recording of several voices uttering jaw-dropping statistics of human trafficking,
the tolls of stress in America, suicide rates, and the rising number of people diagnosed with depression,
the resulting declaration at the end of this introduction—a resounding:
“These are not just statistics, this is warfare”—sets the tone for this unique project.
The 12-track live recording also declares victory in and through Jesus Christ, no matter how difficult the battle.
Ranging from high-energy praise songs to intimate worship moments, from African rhythms to trap gospel beats,
Bloody Win remains cohesive as it captures the unique and passionate artistry at its best.
In 1997, Tye Tribbett, the founder of G.A (also known as Greater Anointing)
entered the group into the McDonald’s and Wrigley’s Gospel choir competitions
in which they won 1st place in all categories.
Tribbett astonished the audience and judges with his incredibly high energy.
Tribbett and his group performed “Let Go, Let God” with Multi-Grammy, Soul Train,
and American Music Award winning duo Mary Mary.
It was the movie soundtrack that catapulted Tribbett beyond gospel
and into the mainstream music industry.
Between the years of 1999 and 2005, Tye Tribbett and his group (G.A) made their mark in the music industry,
performing with Jill Scott, India Arie, Jahn Mellencamp, Music Soulchild and The Roots.
They also appeared on Commons’ “Electric Circus Lp”, Jessica Simpsons’ Christmas project,
Will Smiths’ latest CD, on a song featuring Mary J. Blige, and also Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me A River”.
Tye, who is also an accomplished musician playing multiple instruments,
was accompanying Columbia Records top selling artist, Vivian Green at a showcase.
In 2009 after four records, Tribbett decided to retire GA,
releasing them to pursue personal goals and dreams while he also auditioned new background singers.
With a new look, new music, new administration, new style, Tribbett released his fourth project,
Fresh (Columbia Records). This album also presented another facet of his evolution.
He challenged the ears of contemporary gospel listeners and also invited the ears of every other genre
to embrace a new sound of Kingdom Music that glorifies God.
In 2013, Tye released his critically acclaimed fifth project
which also is his third consecutive career Billboard #1 album Greater Than,
which is his best-selling project to date, on a new label home, Motown Gospel.
With over 20 years in music and ministry and career sales exceeding 1.3 million units
across six (6) commercially released albums (2004-2017),
this also accomplished multiple Stellar and Dove Award-wining musician’s charismatic, energetic
and dynamic personality can be seen pastoring alongside his wife Shante Tribbett
at their newly launched ministry, liVe Church, located in Orlando, FL., where they reside along with their two daughters.
